This 8-week course is suitable for people who have completed the Beginner Course and would like to further develop their writing skills in different styles of writing, Semi-cursive (Gyosho) style.

The main focus of this course will be learning semi-cursive (Gyosho) style. Topics include:

• Basic strokes and rules in semi-cursive style

• The flow of the brush line

• Lessons from historical calligraphy masters

• How to do wet mounting to frame your calligraphy artwork (裏打ち)

• Design your own name stamp (落款デザイン)

• Kanji structure (部首): parts of kanji and their patterns

• How to be expressive and create your own calligraphy art
