Special Seminar 201 (Winter 2025)

LOCATION: 825 Pacific St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1C3

FEE: $192 (2hrs lesson x 4 weeks)

In this 4-week course, we will experiment with diverse techniques using brush, ink, paper, and other materials. Step beyond your comfort zone and embrace the courage to explore new creative possibilities.

This course is designed to help you prepare your final piece for the Shodo Canada Competition (submission deadline: February 28, 2025). It’s especially suited for repeat entrants eager to take their calligraphic expression to the next level.

No competition submission required! You’re welcome to join even if you’re simply interested in honing your skills or creating your own calligraphy art.

Course Highlights:

  • Refine your writing skills in Block, Semi-Cursive, and Cursive styles.

  • Explore visual expressions that are traditional, creative, and forward-looking.

  • Experiment with composition to elevate your level of expression.

  • Learn to tell a unique story by animating every detail through precise brush control.

  • Complete your final artwork for submission or personal growth.

Optional Sessions:
Two additional sessions focusing on completing your final artwork will be held on Saturday, February 15th, and February 22nd. Each session is $30. While optional, course participants will have priority access to these sessions.

Important Notes:

  • It is recommended to take at least one course with Kisyuu Calligraphy before joining this program. If you haven’t, please email Kisyuu to discuss your experience and interest.

  • This course has a maximum of 5 participants, so register soon to secure your spot!

INTERESTED

In order to submit your artwork to Shodo Canada competition, there is additional $100 entry fee on top of the course fee. Kisyuu will collect all the art by February 23rd and mail them to Toronto.
