A Daruma doll (Japanese: 達磨 だるま) is a round Japanese traditional doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen tradition of Buddhism. Daruma dolls are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck. This art was created in collaboration with Shoko Sonoda, a Japanese tattoo artist in Vancouver.
