This 6-week advance course is suited for people who have completed the Semi-cursive (Gyosho) 201 course at Kisyuu Calligraphy or people who have experience in calligraphy. We will look at diverse calligraphers both in Chinese and Japanese histories and learn many different styles of semi-cursive script. At the end of the course, you will be ask to create your own art with those skills you learn throughout the course.

Week 1: Beifutsu 米芾: Change in size and height
Week 2: Tachibana no Hayanari 橘逸勢: Learn Japanese Style from Three Brushes ①
Week 3: Kukai 空海: Learn from Three Brushes in Japan ②
Week 4: Ono no Dofu 小野道風: Transition from Chinese to Japanese Style of Calligraphy
Week 5 : Shinran 親鸞: Calligraphy & Buddhism
Week 6: Otaku 王鐸 & Final Art
